COMMENTS - now converted into the Halifax Building Society Branch in Bridgwater, 17 Fore Street was previously a shop on the main thoroughfare, with a storage area and first floor warehouse behind.

Midas Construction carried out a complete refurbishment and the Structural Engineer chose the TRS as the preferred method of repairing 7 of the roof principal rafters and associated tie beams. These had been attacked by wet rot after penetrating dampness from a defective valley gutter had soaked them over many years. The rafters and tie beams were repaired as pairs: although the roof was being renewed this method did not disturb the existing roof covering.
